Our space weather forecast system is working great, and giving a RED alert now - watch for major low latitude auroras!! The folks who are heading to Svalbard for the eclipse will get a great show! We are predicting up to Kp level 8! http://mms.rice.edu/realtime/forecast.html
MMS is extending its magnetometer booms today. Last night they put out the sensors, and POW! a major dipolarization associated with a substorm! (the storm our forecast system predicted). So far all instruments, orbital elements and sensors within specifications!
