Applications Open: Earth to Sky Climate Communication Course

The Earth to Sky Interagency Partnership, in collaboration with the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals and Grand Canyon National Park, is excited to announce an upcoming course for interpreters, informal educators, and Tribal professionals on the Colorado Plateau!
Earth to Sky courses bring together NASA and regional climate scientists with participants to learn about the latest global and regional climate research, explore techniques for successful climate change interpretation and communication, and learn, network, and collaborate with local peers. Participants will explore relationships between culture and climate on the Colorado Plateau, investigate local climate impacts and responses, and leave with a plan for bringing the climate story to their audience in relevant, engaging, inspiring, and hopeful ways.
- Course Dates: Sept. 6–9, 2022
- Course Location: Horace Albright Training Center, Grand Canyon National Park
- Who should apply? This course is designed for interpreters, place-based informal educators, and science communicators at federal, state, and local agencies, Tribal governments and education centers, and other organizations with a focus on place-based education. Participants should have experience with interpretation/communication principles and techniques; knowledge of climate science is not required. Partners and collaborators planning work on joint projects are especially encouraged.
