In collaboration with Columbia University’s Earth Institute, we would like to invite you to a series of webinars for K-12 students and educators. The EI LIVE K-12 channel will feature experts from across the Earth Institute presenting relevant sustainability content in 45-minute live sessions for K12 students and educators. This Thursday, 3/11, Jonny Kingslake, Assistant Professor, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, will discuss how scientists use mathematics and physics to understand glaciers and will show some simple equations that will help us understand how ice insulates the Earth’s surface. During each EI K-12 session the NASA Education Program Specialist from NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies will provide supplemental NASA education, content, platforms and resources relevant to the weekly topic for further exploration and discovery.
This Thursday’s episode (March 11), is entitled The Earth’s Blanket — Physics of Glaciers and will be presented at 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM ET.
