WGBH, through its Bringing the Universe to America's Classrooms project, is offering K-12 educators a three-part webinar series on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Katie Novak, Ed.D., author of eight best-selling books on Universal Design for Learning and Mirko Chardin, co-author with Dr. Novak on "Equity by Design: The Power and Promise of UDL," will lead a series of three one-hour webinars on Universal Design for Learning. Participants will learn more about a framework to help eliminate barriers that prevent some students from learning at high levels to create a more equitable system for those students who have been historically marginalized.
Webinar 1: Embracing Universal Design for Learning, Including Tips for Distance Instruction (Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 7 PM EDT)
This webinar will cover:
- Understanding core components of Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- The UDL Framework, principles, and guidelines
- Examples of what UDL looks like in practice, including tips for applying UDL to support distance/ blended instruction
