On July 9, 2020, My NASA Data's Elizabeth Joyner presented "Our Earth, Our Data, Our Instruction: Tips and Tricks for Using NASA Data with Students" to 88 educators through NASA STEM Engagement & Educator Professional Development Collaborative - Kennedy Space Center.
Elizabeth modeled how to locate, access, visualize, and download Earth data from the Earth System Data Explorer. She was joined by Kristin Hunter-Thomson, data literacy expert from Dataspire, who presented instructional strategies for developing students' data literacy skills using these data. These skills focused on engaging students in data to ask questions, adapting the way we visualize data to answer specific questions, and identifying patterns in these data.
