On April 23, 2020, My NASA Data’s Elizabeth Joyner and Dr. Bradley Hegyi presented virtually to 42 educators through NASA STEM Engagement & Educator Professional Development Collaborative. Dr. Brad Hegyi, an atmospheric scientist from NASA's Langley Research Center explained the science behind Urban Heat Islands while My NASA Data Educator, Elizabeth Joyner, presented the variety of educational resources on this topic.
My NASA Data is part of the GLOBE Mission Earth “Science Activation” project, which is a collaborative of multiple institutions (including NASA’s Langley Research Center) across the United States, formed to increase teacher/ student involvement in the GLOBE Program.
