GLOBE Mission EARTH-West Leads NARM (North American Regional Meeting)

WestED and UC Berkeley (part of GLOBE Mission Earth) hosted the 2019 Fall NARM (North American Regional Meeting) for GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) Program at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, California on October 16 & 17, 2019. Drs. Allison Leidner (NASA) and Tony Murphy (GLOBE) welcomed the group. STEM Equity and serving underrepresented urban youth in STEM learning and careers was the underlying theme throughout the PD and NARM. Lunch speaker Dr. Tameka McGlawn, Executive Director of the University of California Berkeley's College and Career Academy Support Network, received a standing ovation for her presentation entitled Effectively Integrating Equity DNA in STEM: A Systemic and Constructivist Approach. Each partner in GME participated in presentations and lightning talks. NASA Langley participated in the PD with an in-depth look at MyNASAData. Tracy Ostrom along with Svetlana Darche lead the planning of the professional development before NARM and NARM itself.
