This is a typical question teachers ask their students on the first day of school. Our teachers participated in GLOBE professional development so that their students can participate in the GLOBE Program this school year. Two partners, Boston University (BU) and University of Toledo (UT), from GLOBE Mission EARTH, trained about 40 teachers from grades 2-12 in Rhode Island and Ohio. Teachers learned how to collect and enter the GLOBE data, visualize the data through GLOBE’s Vis System and then look at the data collected by NASA satellites. At BU, teachers were trained in GLOBE Land, Water, & Air Protocols. For the UT training, teachers focused on the Urban Heat Island Effect & Water Quality Bundles.
