The NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative (NESEC) team gave 10 presentations (including 5 poster presentations), provided two half-day training sessions, and collaborated on a public event at the Michigan Science Center (Pop-up Science with NASA). A NESEC team member also assisted with GLOBE student fieldtrips.

Training sessions included 1) field work and training with 35 international participants on Belle Isle using GLOBE Observer; 2) panel presentations on NESEC GLOBE Campaigns and Challenges (Trees Around the GLOBE, GLOBE Mission Mosquito, U.S. Air Quality, GLOBE Clouds, and GO on a Trail); and 3) table top station activities demonstrating activities from the new GLOBE Observer Toolkit for Informal Educators.

Presentations included: Teaming up with GLOBE; Introducing the User Guide for GLOBE Data; Using NASA Earth Observing Satellite Data to Predict, Monitor, and Respond to Disease, Observing the Height of our Planet, One Tree at a Time; and GLOBE Observer Updates. Poster presentations were on topics related to NASA science and NESEC campaigns and resources. A NESEC team member assisted with GLOBE student field work.

The NESEC PI (IGES) planned and coordinated the training sessions with other SciAct and GLOBE partners and with the NESEC team. NESEC Co-Is and team members attended and presented from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Langley Research Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Oregon State University.
