NESSP hosted 8 tribal teams to launch 4 high altitude balloons during the Solar Eclipse of Aug 21,2017. The teams were from Oregon, Washington and Idaho and included about 100 students. 4 other teams dropped out due to fire concerns. NESSP is finishing up it Spring Outreach events reaching nearly 1600, with a participation rate of nealry 75% from underrepresented minorities, including 9 tribal schools in the NW. NESSP also completed seven week-long camps for nearly 250 students with 72% participation from underrepresented minorities. These camps focussed on Earth and Space Sciences.
