On June 16 - 18, 2017, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center participated in AwesomeCon, Washington DC’s ComicCon held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Led and primarily funded by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter team, GSFC hosted a booth in the FutureCon area of the Exhibition Space as well as 7 panels.‚Äč NASA participated in 13 panels overall, reaching hundreds of people. Overall, the event welcomed about 70,000 visitors throughout the weekend. NASA scientists and outreach specialists engaged in conversations with people of all ages and backgrounds, discussing the upcoming total solar eclipse, Earth-science missions like GPM, LANDSAT, and ICESAT, as well as robotic engineering. The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with folks avidly interested in NASA's work!
