The NASA Science Education and Public Outreach Forums support the NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) and its education and public outreach (E/PO) programs. The Forums foster collaboration between E/PO teams and between sciencetists with content expertise and educators with pedagogy expertise. These posters present opportunities for the astronomy community to leverage Forum resources and participate in collaborations to engage multiple audiences, including: K-12 Formal Education, Informal Education, Higher Education, and Scientists.
The posters are available below. Four describe the Forums' efforts to support a different community (K-12 Formal Education, Informal Education, Higher Education, and Scientists) via 1) understanding audience needs, 2) building connections and best practices, and 3) creating access to resources. The fifth describes how the Forums work with SMD-funded missions, research programs, and grantees to organize individual E/PO activities into a coordinated, effective, and efficient nationwide effort, with easy entry points for scientists, educators, and the public.
